Prince Ken and Princess Barbie

Oh, who am I kidding. I’m so thrilled. My favourite things–Prince William and Princess Kate combined with my other favourite things Ken and Barbie (ok, wine and champagne would be in the favourite thing mix, but it’s not that sort of post today).

The clever people at Mattel have modelled a gift for royal-couple tragics out there and made a replica of William and Kate’s wedding to celebrate their first anniversary. How cool is that? Much much better than getting some crappy oragami thing that is the traditional first anniversary paper gift. Imagine having a doll made in your likeness? Actually that is the one reason I’d like to be famous–so that someone could make a doll of me. Oh and being really rich would be another reason that I’d like to be famous. That way I’d never have to work again, I could travel the world, drink French champagne all day–oh there I go again, getting off track–it really isn’t that sort of post.

Anyway back to what I was talking about–Will and Kate and their doll-like images. Here’s what the website has to say

This Royal Wedding® Gift Set includes exquisite portrait dolls of the bride and groom now bestowed with the titles, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The Catherine doll wears an elegant, yet chic, gown inspired by the original and features lovely ivory taffeta trimmed with lace and faux pearl buttons. Also includes wedding bouquet, silvery tiara, earrings and engagement ring. Continuing the elegance is Catherine’s handsome prince. William is dressed in the brilliant scarlet uniform of the Colonel of the Irish Guards, proudly decorated with royal blue sash, metallic cummerbund with bow trimmed in golden fringe, golden buttons and medallions.

It can be all yours for the princely sum of $100 but be warned, you can only order a maximum of five.

What they don’t mention is that you can pose up the happy couple as you like. You can even make them replicate the balcony kiss. Oooh ahhh!!!

Anyway they’ve done an ok job. William looks like himself, the dress looks like the original wedding dress and Kate? Well Kate looks like brunette Barbie. But then who hasn’t wanted to look like Barbie at some time of their lives? Image
