Tony Abbott was in an Iron Man event on the weekend. Of course the government is bitching and whingeing about it saying that he should be making up policy not being all fit and healthy and stuff, but I think it will work out well for Abbott in the long run.

So I’ve been doing a bit of research into the backgrounds of Tony Stark and Tony Abbott and I’ve found a whole trove of similarities between them. So here they are.

Ten Similarities between Iron Men Tony Abbott and Tony Stark

1. Tony Stark (TS) fights evils of corporate crime and terrorism. Tony Abbott (TA) fights the evils of the Labor Party and Kevin Rudd (aka supervillain Krudd).
2. TS is the Iron Man. TA is an Iron Man
3. TS wears a protective suit of armour. TA wears dick stickers (I will not call them budgie smugglers, I am a Queenslander and that’s what they’re called).
4. TS has a capable assistant called Pepper Potts. TA has a capable assistant called Julie Bishop.
5. TS is a member of the Republican Party. TA is the leader of the Liberal Party.
6. TS has a Facebook page. TA has a Facebook page.
7. TS was betrayed by his former lover Kathleen Dare who shot him. TA was betrayed when he was 19 by a girl who said that he had got her pregnant (not true said the DNA).
8. TS narrowly escapes death on numerous occasions. TA escapes death in February this year when he car is almost mowed over by a truck.
9. TS was missing in the Middle East. TA was missing in the Australian outback.
10. TS defeated the enemy Stane who tries to take over Stark Industries. TA defeats the enemy Malcolm Turnbull who had taken over the Liberal Party.

Despite the similarities though, I think Tony Abbbott might need to call on Tony Stark’s superpowers if he wants to defeat Krudd in this year’s election.
